Tell us a bit about yourself.

I am a commercial and editorial photographer, and I am specialized in photographic lighting and production planning.

How did you get started in photography?

I started doing photography as a hobby. At the beginning most of my shots were just making objects (mostly landscape) look beautiful, until one day I realized photography is a language.

One camera and lens for the rest of your life…what would it be?

 D800+AFS 24-70.

What’s the best thing about being a photographer? The worst?

Pros?  It is a job I get to “Play around”. I mean I was given the ability to create a world under my prints or monitor. Also I get to know lots of awesome people.

Cons?  I often having nightmares about failing my assignments, trust me that wasn’t funny.

If you could shoot anything/anywhere/anyone, what would it be?

Recently I really enjoy shooting dancers. If it is up to me, I would love to shoot a lot of acrobatic work.

What’s your most memorable shooting experience? Tell us about it.

Well, I have lots of little moments that I consider memorable, that’s why I love my work. Just few days ago, one of my subject Crystal Lee became the Miss California 1st place, and some of my shots were used on her campaign. I am very happy that I helped.

What’s your off-camera lighting philosophy?

As Bob Krist said, “Shadow is my friend, put them where they belong.”

Words of advice for aspiring photographers?

Keep shooting; learn skills, don’t copy ideas; take critics, but don’t just follow.

Please share 5 of your favorite images, and tell us a bit about them.
