After missing a month due to business at Photokina, our photo of the month contest is back in action, and we’ve got a winner for the month of October.
After being featured on our Shot of the Week before, and making the finals in the first two months, Maria Sardari has finally taken top honors with her shot, Little Secrets. This one garnered the most votes from the A-Team as we gathered to discuss and choose the photos we liked best. Particularly, we think the pose and backlighting really make this image pop. Furthermore, the square crop was a wise choice bringing focus in on the subject. Maria took this self-portrait with an Aputure remote and added it to our Flickr Group, which is all you have to do to place yourself in the running for the monthly contest. Check our her daily series in her Flickr stream. Congratulations, Maria! We knew this would happen sooner or later. She takes home a new set of Aputure Trigmasters.
Coming in a close second was a nice low/wide-angle creative shot from Ian Ho. We liked the fun-factor here.
In third place was a rather sinister shot by Tomislav Car, a relatively new member of the group.
As much as I personally liked this shot by Edward Yezekian, the rest of the A-Team did not concur.
Steevd obviously put a lot of effort into this composition, and we salute him on making the finals.
Until next month, keep those photos coming, and we’ll see who takes home the next prize on December 1st!
